Tasting Room And Hospitality Coordinator (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

We are a small family-run winery passionate about what we do. We are growing and looking for a full-time seasonal Tasting Room & Hospitality Coordinator to join our team. You will be working closely with the DTC manager to develop the best possible experience for our guests and members, and ensure our retail team is operating in a professional, customer oriented and effective manner. This position is instrumental in achieving targeted sales and growth. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail/sales, events, and have an understanding of tasting room operations. Must be available to work weekends and the occasional evening. This role is a seasonal full time position with part time available throughout the winter season.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

- Provide an elevated level of customer service. 

- Educate guests about the wines, vineyard and story

- Encourage and sell wine and wine club memberships to reach monthly targets. 

 - Assist and support the DTC manager in the day to day tasks of the tasting room. Provide leadership and create a positive working environment for all seasonal staff.

-Support the order desk, and help ensure orders are packed in a timely manner.

- Pour wines, while providing outstanding tours and tasting experiences to our members and guests. 

- Opening and closing procedures

- Maintain the aesthetics of the winery, and assist the tasting room staff with maintaining cleanliness of the facilities.  

- Assist with special events, both onsite and offsite

- Responsible for restocking wine and merchandise in the wine shop. 

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

2-3 Years in a related wine/retail field with sales experience

Experience with Tock reservations

Experience with WineDirect.

Solid understanding of of Okanagan Wines, and/or wine education an asset

Supervisory experience, Leadership skills 

Team oriented and have excellent communication skills

Polite, caring & enthusiastic demeanor

Valid SIR Certificate (Serving it right) 

Foodsafe Certificate

Availability to work weekends and holidays
