River Stone Estate Winery is a family-owned winery seeking a fun, outgoing and enthusiastic individual to join our team of Wine Educators located in Oliver Wine Country. Our perfect candidate will have a passion for hospitality, come to work with a positive attitude, provide exceptional service to our guests and be a team player willing to assist in all aspects of the tasting room. Candidates must be passionate and knowledgeable about wine, and have exceptional customer service skills.
Hiring full time and part time positions.
RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE:
- Host tours and tastings/pour wines to members and guests
- Speak comfortably in front of large groups
- Educate guests about our wines, and communicate genuinely and passionately.
- Provide valuable and entertaining wine and brand education by creating memorable experiences for everyone who visits.
- Engage with customers and sell wine before their experience ends in the tasting room
- Promote Wine Club memberships to guests and process club-sign ups.
- Pack orders, and help guests by carrying orders for them
- Represent the winery at outside functions as needed.
ADDITIONAL DAILY OPERATIONS AND TASKS:
- Perform opening and closing tasks
- Stock retail area by moving and distributing cases of wine and other merchandise
- Assist with special events as needed
- Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of the winery and its wines
- Multi-tasking, organizing, cleaning
- Inventory
- Polish glassware and maintain cleanliness and presention of the tasting room and picnic area.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Valid Seriving It Right Certification
- Food Safe
- 19 years+
- Experience in the service/wine industry an asset
- WineDirect or POS experience an asset
- Problem solver, punctuality, positive team player
- Passion for wine.
- WSET is considered an asset.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods
The ideal candidate must be able to maintain composure in stressful situations and handle them effectively, while staying postitive throughout the day.
Must be reliable, punctual, flexible and able to work weekends and holidays.
Must have access to reliable transportation
$18/hour + tips and a significant discount on our products
