Phantom Creek Estates is a highly anticipated new winery located on the famed Black Sage Bench of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, specializing in single vineyard Bordeaux reds, Alsatian whites and the Okanagan’s benchmark varieties of Viognier and Syrah from storied vineyard sites. By farming its vineyards with care and precision, Phantom Creek produces wines that celebrate and speak to where they are grown. The winery’s estate vineyards, including the acclaimed Phantom Creek Vineyard, are in transition to organic and biodynamic certification.
We are currently searching for Tasting Room Associates to join our growing hospitality team. This hourly position will be based in the winery on Black Sage Road in Oliver, British Columbia. Reporting to the Tasting Room Manager, this role will provide exceptional hospitality at our tasting bar and other guests experiences.
The essential functions for this key role are:
· Provide outstanding hospitality at our tasting bar, terrace lounge, tours and other guest experiences
· Serving our guests wine and food in a seated environment
· Assist guests with transporting purchases to their vehicle or arranging for shipment/delivery
· Opening and closing duties, including daily cash reconciliation and inventory
· Stocking and displaying wine and retail merchandise in the tasting room and replenish inventory as needed
The successful candidate qualifications are:
· Serving it Right certification, CSW, WSET or comparable certification is a plus
· 1-2 years of wine industry experience
· Demonstrated experience and skill providing outstanding hospitality
· Proven ability to effectively communicate with diverse client groups of varying sizes
· Experience using Vin65 or other reservation management software
· Ability to lift 40 lbs. and work weekends and holidays
