Phantom Creek Estates is a family-owned winery in the Okanagan Valley.  They own estate vineyards in the best locations in the Southern Okanagan including the Black Sage Bench and the Golden Mile as well as in the new and exciting Similkameen Valley.   

 

 

 

We are currently seeking a Vineyard Foreman for our 45-acre Kobau Vineyard in the famed Golden Mile just south of Oliver.  

 

 

 

You will: 

 

·         Assist the Viticulture team to carry out work to the quality and time standards set

 

·         Provide training and supervision to the crew on best practices to plant, prune, sucker, thin, spray and harvest within an organic system

 

·         Assist and support the day to day workflow in the Kobau Vineyard

 

·         Monitor and assist with all irrigation, spray, nutrient, canopy management and pruning plans

 

·         Supervise any maintenance of the trellis systems, including wires, anchors and posts

 

·         Maintain all machinery and equipment and repairs as necessary

 

·         Assist with all recordkeeping, including vineyard progress tracking and crew payroll timesheets

 

·         Assist with capturing all spray records and details

 

You bring: 

 

·         A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands on vineyard experience is required. Those with a formal education in viticulture, horticulture or other related fields, will have a definite advantage.

 

·         Experience with or enthusiasm for organic and biodynamic viticulture

 

·         Exceptional skills in safe operation and maintenance of vineyard equipment

 

·         Strong knowledge of all vineyard procedures and practices

 

·         Proven people management and coaching skills

 

·         Ability to speak Spanish is an asset

 

·         Able to do physically demanding work including in various weather conditions

 

·         Valid Driver’s License and hold/obtain valid Spray certification

 

 

 

This position is a full-time permanent role that will require some work on weekends, holidays as well as some overtime.  A competitive salary and benefit package are offered with this role.
