Phantom Creek Estates is a highly anticipated new winery located on the famed Black Sage Bench of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, specializing in single vineyard Bordeaux reds, Alsatian whites and the Okanagan’s benchmark varieties of Viognier and Syrah from storied vineyard sites.  By farming its vineyards with care and precision, Phantom Creek produces wines that celebrate and speak to where they are grown.  The winery’s estate vineyards, including the acclaimed Phantom Creek Vineyard, are in transition to organic and biodynamic certification.

 

We are now seeking a Vineyard Hand to join our dynamic team.  This is a full-time/permanent role aimed at finding a candidate with an interest/passion for sustainable, organic and/or biodynamic farming.

 

Job duties:

·        Perform vineyard tractor operations as directed by the Vineyard Manager or Foreman, including but not limited to mowing, cultivating, spraying, compost spreading, seeding, harvesting.

·        Assist vineyard crew with seasonal tasks as required, including pruning, shoot-thinning, tucking, wire lifting, leaf and fruit removal.

·        Prepare organic and biodynamic sprays and preparations.

·        Assist with ancillary organic and biodynamic farming activities including livestock management, cover crop and insectary maintenance.

Qualifications:

·         Able to work outdoors for a minimum of 40 hours a week.

·         Vineyard experience preferred but not essential.

·         Mechanical aptitude a plus.

·         Good verbal communication skills.

·         Valid drivers license with a clean record.
