Lakeside Cellars is perched on the side of Osoyoos lake. We are a new family owned and operated winery in Osoyoos having established ourselves in 2015.
We are currently looking for full time and part time tasting room associates for the upcoming 2021 season. We are looking for energetic self-motivated individuals with a passion for wine. Candidates should posse strong customer service experience, Love interacting with guests and providing every guest with true Okanagan hospitality.
OVERALL POSITION GOAL: To support the development and ongoing execution of Lakeside Cellar’s tasting room and lounge, and visitor experiences including tours, industry and media tastings.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Foster positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including customers, industry clients, and team members.
2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Lakeside’s expanding client and market databases as well as sales requirements.
3. Identify opportunities and create strategies to continually elevate overall hospitality processes and procedures
EDUCATION:
o WSET Level 2 minimum or ISG certified an asset
o Serving It Right certificate
o Knowledge of viticulture, viniculture, growing regions, local production and marketing efforts.
KEY POSITION FUNCTIONS:
o Educate guests on Lakeside’s history, as well as our wine making process in a comfortable and enthusiastic manner
o Maintain knowledge on all current vintages being presented within the tasting room, as well as some library wines
o Knowledge and promotion of the Lakeside client membership
o Hosting various tastings simultaneously
o Providing an outstanding guest experience for consumers as well as trade
o Involvement in daily wine sales, processing said transactions in an efficient and timely manner
o Assist with daily opening and closing duties including locking and alarming building
o Maintain a safe workplace and report any repairs and maintenance issues to management.
o Maintain a clean tasting room and any other common areas – picnic lawn, lounge, public washrooms, Staff room etc.
o Attend and participate in monthly tasting room meetings/other general winery meetings
o Daily cash reconciliation
o Assisting with fulfilment of online and DTC Shipping orders as well as wine club shipments
o Assist with booking club member tours
o Hosting wine club member tours
o Occasionally representing the winery at offsite events/tastings
OTHER REQUIRMENTS:
o Must be able to lift at least 40lbs, Work on and around ladders, Uneven flooring and in hot, cold and wet environments
o Comfortable with large Groups
o Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
o Open and flexible schedule during harvest and the peak tasting room season.
