About Wolf Willow Winery
Wolf Willow Winery is located 45 minutes south west of Saskatoon, SK. The winery sits on 100 acres of certified organic land containing 7000 Sour Cherry Bushes, 500 Haskap bushes, and 1000 Rhubarb plants. The winery as an annual production capacity of 30,000L of Cherry, Haskap, and Rhubarb wine. Wolf Willow Winery has recently expanded to producing fruit wine based beverages and is a large part of the current business model. A seasonal restaurant operates in the wine production building and shares space with the winemaking facilities and equipment. We are small winery with plans of expansion, looking for an eager and passionate team player who is open to playing an ever expanding and evolving role in the growth of the winery.
The successful individual would work closely with the winemaker in all aspects of fruit wine production. Executing day to day operations of the processing facilities at the winery. Facilitate and help manage sales and delivery of products, and help build market and product portfolio. Assisting the restaurant team and owners, adding support for wine tastings, farmers markets, and special events. Working with winemaker and owners to develop new products.
Duties
Assist in supervising all day to day operations, including harvest, bulk wine, barrels and totes, bottling preparation, sanitation, and cellar organization and cleanliness.
Provide winemaking technical support to the Winemaker and production staff.
Supervise & assist in crop receiving, crushing, pressing and wine production operations during harvest.
Participate in wine tasting at all stages throughout the winemaking process and be responsible for conducting evaluation and recommendation of treatments.
Write work orders for all production related tasks from harvest to bottling.
Responsible for supervising, training, and mentoring all cellar and orchard employees during harvest, providing ongoing instruction and support as assigned.
Work as a team with Winemaker on all blends to insure wine profiles are being adequately filled and bottling requirements are met on time.
Responsible for adhering to provincial and federal regulations. This includes completing all necessary monthly and annual reports and paper work.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the winemaking process and procedures.
Prepare work-orders, assist in data management, as well as manage and account bulk and bottled wine inventories. Order supplies and materials when needed.
Responsible for operation and timely maintenance of canning and bottling lines.
Oversee packaging and storage of product as well as assist shipping and/or delivery of wine and beverages.
Responsibility for the quality and execution of work performed, review and implementation of standards of care, safety, and operating procedures.
Strategic and some budgetary planning for seasonal projects, harvest activities, staffing, ordering of supplies.
Photographic documentation of all aspects of winemaking for social media and other marketing related endeavours.
Maintain wine and job quality goals while managing for good productivity and cost effectiveness.
Be available for weekend and evening winery events that require interaction with customers.
