Wolf Willow Vineyards (Outlook, SK) is looking for a passionate self-driven winemaker/distiller to manage, produce, and expand our product line.   On top of having winemaking experience, our ideal candidate is willing to work closely with owners to create a brand for the Orchard.  Attached to the winery facility is a restaurant which is integrated with a campground with ‘glamping’ facilities on the adjacent land.  Wolf Willow Winery products will help accompany and boost the vineyard as a tourist destination.  Our current portfolio is fruit wines (Cherry, Haskap, Rhubard, Mead) but we hope to expand our product line with a suitable candidate.   

About Wolf Willow Winery

·       Amazing river valley location 45 minutes South of Saskatoon, SK

·       Irrigated Orchard: 

o   7000 Sour Cherry Bushes

o   500 Haskap bushes

o   1000 Rhubarb plants

o   Plans to expand into Strawberries under high tunnels

·       Winery:

o    Stainless steel tanks: 4 x 1500L, 3 x 1000L, 2 x 200L, 1 x150L = 9550L total capacity

o   processing area

o   large industrial cooler and freezer 

o   Seasonal Restaurant:

o   kitchen, covered deck and manicured grounds- for direct food and alcohol sales, tastings

o   Full-time Chef and kitchen staff

Duties

The successful individual would have considerable input into fermentation processes and styles of wine and other products being produced.  Executing day to day operations of the processing facilities at the winery.  Facilitate and help manage sales and delivery of products, and help build market and product portfolio.  Assisting the restaurant team and owners, adding support for wine tastings, farmers markets, and special events.  Working with chef and owners to develop new products.

Ideal Candidate

·       Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Assistant Winemaker or Winemaker for small lot winery. 

·       Must be a team player

·       Communication in English (written and verbal) a necessity

·       Strong supervisory skills and ability to work alone. This is an extremely hands on winemaking position

·       Clean, orderly work ethic

·       Exceptional problem-solving skills

·       Experience with and a strong knowledge of orchard production and viticulture

·       Experience working with orchard machinery/equipment would be a great asset.
