Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards is located at the historic Greata Ranch property, situated between Peachland and Summerland. We specialize in sparkling wine and aromatic whites from our 30-acre property.
The goal at Fitzpatrick is to define the culture of sparkling wine in the Okanagan Valley through site-revealing wines of international stature and providing remarkable hospitality experiences.
Responsibilities:
· Assisting the Wine Shop & Wine Club Manager with the daily operations of the wine shop and wine club.
· Responsible for the supervision and leadership of the Experience Makers (tasting room staff).
· Organize, set up, and aid in or conduct tours and tastings, lead VIP tours and tastings.
· Open the wine shop and ensure staff is aware of the daily appointments and flow for the day.
· Encourage Experience Makers to meet sales targets and promote incentive programs.
· Ensure staff are informed, up-to-date and carry a strong knowledge of our wines and tastings.
· Ensure that staff provide remarkable guest experiences.
· Build brand loyalty by recognizing repeat guests and creating reasons to come back regularly.
· Assist with inventory counts.
· Assist with off-site events and tastings as required.
· Assist with on-site weddings and events.
· Assist in maintaining the highest standards for wine shop appearance, guest services and staff commitments.
· Close the wine shop, fill out the daily report and manage cash counts.
· Duties as assigned by the Wine Shop and Wine Club Manager
Position Requirements:
· 3 years’ experience in Hospitality.
· 3 years’ experience in the wine industry and strong wine knowledge.
· Strong leadership and training skills.
· Strong aptitude with Microsoft programs (Word & Excel).
· Previous experience with Tock, Wine Direct and Touch Bistro considered an asset.
· Valid ‘Serving it Right’ certificate.
· WSET or ISG certificate an asset.
· Required to use stairs, repetitive lifting up to 40-pound wine boxes and stand for extended periods.
· Must have a flexible schedule, including working weekends and holidays to maintain the efficient operation of the wine shop. Days off are Tuesday and Wednesday during peak season.
· Role starts in March and ends in late November.
Compensation:
Competitive, based on experience.
Gratuities, which are prorated to hours worked on the floor, typically $3 - $4 an hour, and in peak season $7 - $10.
