Event and Tasting Room Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

The role of the Event and Tasting Room Manager is two-fold and hands on.  We need an experienced, take charge professional with the ability to manage both the seasonal events at our facility from wine dinners to weddings and assist in the management of the Tasting Room.

Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with no supervision, and be willing to work evenings and weekends.

The perfect candidate should have a love for special event management, provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional, and be able to build relationships with customers. They should also have a passion for wine and ability to handle administrative tasks associated with running a tasting room.

 

Responsibilities

Event Coordination

  • Reply to all event enquiries in a timely fashion
  •  Planning onsite wine events in consultation with Hospitality Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Set up and manage on-site events to ensure smooth and efficient execution.
  • Conduct site visits, prepare contracts and book on site weddings
  • Liaise with event and wedding planners
  • Liaise with event suppliers and vendors
  • Communication with customers booking events
  • Manage events including weddings, wine club dinners and other events
  • Keep an inventory of tables, chairs and linens and ensure they are stored properly to avoid damage to the facility or the equipment

Tasting Room

  • Opening and closing responsibilities in Wine Shop
  • Assist in training seasonal Wine Shop associates
  • Scheduling seasonal Wine Shop Associates
  • Assist Hospitality Manager with maintenance, procurement, and sales activities for the wine shop

Desired skills

·        A passion for wine

·        Event coordination experience

·        Management experience

·        Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking

·        Ability to manage multiple projects

·        Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism

·        Ability to accomplish projects with no supervision

·        Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality in keeping with the brand

·        Knowledge of Wine Direct preferred
