Pentâge Winery, a respected boutique winery in Penticton, BC, is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our small, passionate team in ONE of two roles:
- Part-Time: Experienced Cellar Assistant – focused solely on cellar operations
- Full-Time: Cellar Master / Vineyard Assistant – a hybrid role combining cellar and vineyard responsibilities, with leadership potential
This is a rare opportunity to work across all stages of winemaking in a hands-on environment where attention to detail and passion for quality are valued every step of the way.
A Note About the Role
As a small, hands-on winery, we do not have enough year-round cellar work to support a full-time, cellar-only position. Our full-time role includes vineyard work, particularly outside of harvest season. It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, learning, and taking ownership across both the winery and vineyard.
Key Responsibilities
Cellar Work (All Positions):
- Execute cellar operations: pump-overs, punchdowns, racking, wine additions, barrel work, blending, fining, filtering, bottling
- Operate and maintain winery equipment, including pumps, filters, and forklifts
- Support harvest and crush pad operations
- Perform basic lab work and maintain winemaking records (Excel, Word)
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all cellar areas
Vineyard Work (Full-Time Only):
- Assist with seasonal tasks: pruning, spraying, thinning, tucking, canopy management
- Operate farm equipment (tractors, mowers, sprayers, etc.)
- Supervise and coordinate tasks with foreign workers
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on cellar experience (required)
- Experience with vineyard work (for full-time applicants)
- Degree/diploma in Winemaking or Viticulture (asset, not required)
- Strong attention to detail, initiative, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team
- Comfortable lifting 50 lbs or more
- Basic Spanish (asset, especially for vineyard work)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Valid driver’s license
