Built within a revitalized historic theatre in downtown Penticton, the heart of South Okanagan wine country, the new TIME Winery offers a tasting bar, lounge and intimate outdoor patio for guests to enjoy. TIME Winery’s full kitchen and event space provide a unique venue for your next public or private event.
We are currently seeking a hardworking, reliable individual to join our team for Vintage as a Harvest Cellar Hand.
This is a contract position beginning laste August/early September and ending in November 2020. Start date will be flexible and dependant on the season.
Job Description & Position Requirements include:
- Previous winery work an asset
- Grape Processing: Grape Reception, Sorting, Destemming, Crushing, and Pressing
- Fermentation Management: Inoculations, Nutrient Additions, Sampling, Pump Overs, Punch Downs, Sugar Monitoring, and Digging Out of Fermenters
- Cellar Work: Barrel Work, Racking and Product Transfers
- Cellar Sanitation: Tank & Barrel Cleaning, and general cleaning of facility and winery equipment
- Safe Operation of Cellar Forklift and Other Winery Equipment (Training Provided)
- Follow all safety procedures as directed by standard operating procedures
- Other Duties as Required
- Possess a passion for wine and the winemaking process
- Must be a team player and possess "can do" leadership attitude
- Must be highly motivated, self starter and willing to take direction from senior management
- Proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Must be able to long hours during harvest. Work weekends, some evenings and some holidays
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25kg.
- Must possess a passion of wine and the wine making process
- Forklift Ticket an asset
Compensation based on experience.
