This is a Full-Time Position that requires a passionate appreciation and strong knowledge of wine tourism, tasting room/wine retail sales and guest services/hospitality. You have a deep desire to create the ultimate guest experience through educating and sharing your passion and knowledge with staff, wine club members and winery guests.
Critically important is the ability to achieve sales and business objectives through revenue generation and expense management in the key DTC channels.
TASTING ROOM/HOSPITALITY:
§ Oversee the proper delivery of all wine experiences to winery guests and club members in the tasting room
§ Manage Tasting Room expense budgets and retail sales to achieve targeted case sales and operating profits
§ Work with the tasting room sales team to achieve weekly sales and monthly goals, and to build increased customer loyalty
§ Effectively schedule staff throughout the season (March-November) to ensure adequate staffing
§ Manage and track inventory of all wine and retail items
§ Ensure overall tasting room cleanliness and maintenance of the facility
§ Maintain accurate and up to date selling tools (tasting notes, club information, price lists, signage etc.) throughout all selling venues to drive Tasting Room sales and ensure positive consumer experiences
§ Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of events including (but not limited to) those for Wine club, consumer tastings, wine festivals and tasting room
WINE CLUB COORDINATION:
You will be the primary point of contact for our Wine Club members with the intention to grow & retain membership and drive wine club sales and revenue. You will play a critical role in executing the annual wine club plan.
§ Increase membership through converting both tasting room and online customers to loyal members
§ Optimize the Hillside wine club membership experience and deliver services with a focus on exclusive club benefits, club event planning and enhanced tasting experiences
§ Maintain consistent communication and messaging to wine club members through email & newsletters
§ Execute the timely and efficient delivery of bi-annual Wine Club shipments by overseeing club shipments, release dates and wine allocation & inventory
§ Collaborate with Office Administrator to coordinate warehouse logistics, shippers and accurate wine inventory for club processing
§ Maintain and manage wine club pages within company website (Wine Direct/Vin65 platform)
As Hospitality and Wine Club Manager, you will be an active leader in not only your direct responsibilities, but will collaborate with entire management team on setting strategic plans that are aligned with overall company objectives and brand strategy.
Qualifications:
§ 2-5 years of previous winery and/or hospitality experience preferred
§ Post-secondary education in wine/food/beverage/hospitality studies is considered an asset
§ Solid knowledge and/or a proven passion for wine, preferably with formal wine training ie. WSET
§ Strong communication skills
§ Outstanding customer service abilities
§ Database Management/POS skills (WIne Direct/Vin65 or similar considered an asset)
§ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and design software
§ Specific Wine shop and/or Wine club experience considered an asset
§ Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs
§ Must be available to work weekends, holidays and some evenings during peak season
§ Serving It Right certificate
§ Must be available to work weekends (typical work week will be Thur-Mon)
This is a salaried position that includes a bonus program and benefits package.
