Sales and Marketing Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Built within a historic and revitalized movie theatre in downtown Penticton, TIME Family of Wines is the parent company to Chronos, Evolve Cellars and the McWatters Collection. Wine lovers in the Okanagan are invited to visit the elegant tasting bar and restaurant and discover beautifully crafted wines for any occasion, as well as the locally curated dishes of the Okanagan. 

TIME Family of Wines is seeking a Sales and Marketing Manager to join our team. This full- time, salaried position will be based in the winery in downtown Penticton.

This position, reporting to the General Manager, serves as a leader, educator, mentor and collaborator for our sales and marketing initiatives. 

The Sales and Marketing Manager will develop and execute the strategic sales and marketing plan which supports all sales activities through all of TIME Family of Wines distribution channels.

Executing this strategy will involve all advertising, digital marketing, trade marketing, forecasting and liaising with our national sales agency, product registrations, reporting & analysis, procurement of materials & supplies, CRM management, inventory management, building promotions, planning and executing events, assisting with public relations and media relations, competitions, creative design, creative writing for all external and internal pieces and communication across all departments.  

Marketing Initiatives 

·       Leading strategy and directing all aspects of the marketing mix, including product positioning, data insights, pricing, packaging, portfolio mix, POS development, promotion, trade communication, product innovation, consumer advertising which align with our brand positioning.

·       Responsible for all branding and packaging aligned with our brand positioning

·       Accountable for all social media strategy and execution, including company website.

·       Manage annual brand planning, forecasting, and A & P budgeting for all brands.

·       Building programs and promotions for each defined channel to convert audience into loyal customers and eventual brand ambassadors.

·      Design, content and copywriting for all product and programs including trade marketing collateral, direct to consumer collateral, consumer education and experiences, website, and digital media content

Media/Public Relations/Partnerships 

·       Coordinate visits of media, wine critics and trade 

·       Responsible for marketing plans to support sales of all on-site special events, dinners, concerts etc. ensuring target ticket sales are met.

·       Takes ownership of all on and off-site activations including tradeshows, FAM visits, tastings and events across the company marketing calendar. Including planning communications and execution.

·       Responsible for (in-conjunction with outside Agency) for PR strategy and execution

·       supporting e-commerce sales and marketing initiatives and meeting forecasted sales targets 

Sales Initiatives

·       Developing annual and long-term offsite sales business plans 

·       Oversee customer sales in coordination with outside sales agency, ensuring communication of the brand message is consistent and program development and P.O.S. is targeted, relevant, and fresh

·       Responsible for in-market visits to support sales accounts 

·       Managing export sales 

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor of Commerce/Communications/Marketing or equivalent, combined with three to five (3-5) years brand/hospitality marketing/sales experience

·       Luxury retail marketing experience an asset 

·       Minimum WSET Level 2

·       Currently or previously worked in a dynamic, Beverage Alcohol Company

·       Excellent organizational and planning skills

·       Driven, motivated, and able to take initiative

·       Must have a proactive, entrepreneurial spirit

·       Passionate about the wine industry and selling wine

·       Exceptional communication skills; a proven track record in achieving results

·       Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities; ability to work productively with diverse work styles

·       Proficiency in online and offline marketing tools and ability to work within tight timelines

·       Enjoys working in a fast-paced work environment and able to manage competing demands

·       Creative and detail orientated 

·       Outstanding verbal and written communications skills 

·       Leadership skills and the ability to drive improvement within the business 

·       Experience developing and adhering to a budget 

·       Strong customer service orientation 

·       Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, and Premiere Pro) is an asset.

·       Proficient in Social Media and Digital Marketing.

·       Experience using a CMS, such as WordPress, Commerce 7, MailChimp is an asset.
