The Tasting Room Manager (Naramata) is a key leadership position that is situated in our Penticton location. This role is a strong contributor in increasing overall company wine sales, training and inspiring employees, responding to and resolving customer inquiries/complaints, and requires excellent customer service skills along with a strong passion and knowledge for wine.
This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the tasting room, the overall guest experience and executing sales strategies at Township 7 Vineyards & Winery. These duties will include:
Management / Leadership
• Work with the leadership team on regular promotions / events including all sales and marketing incentives.
• Lead and inspire the Tasting room team on a daily and weekly basis.
• Effectively manage and handle VIP and high-profile clients.
Operations / Standards
• Manage the guest experience ensuring a successful Tasting Room workflow and operation.
• Ensure adequate and efficient staffing while accommodating hours of operation, special events and staff requests for time off. This may include working on the tasting room floor (scheduled shifts).
• Work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening, holiday and weekend shifts.
Sales / Marketing
• Solicit private events, corporate wine purchases and private label orders.
• Track product charity donations, tasting bottles, media, competitions, etc.
• Promote and create in-house promotions, sales outreach programs, etc.
People / Staffing
• Recruiting and retention of employees that includes hiring, performance management, termination and employee promotion recommendations.
• Advising Tasting Room staff on wine knowledge, procedures, sales strategies and tools, event updates, health and safety guidelines and other pertinent information to aid sales and improve efficiency.
• Providing strategic direction and leadership to tasting room staff through effective communication and enforcement of company policies, procedures, and department operations.
Financial / Administration
• Administering scheduling, payroll management adhering to budget guidelines.
• Maintain an up-to date inventory (including merchandise) reconciling any variances monthly.
• Account and reconcile for cash outs, daily and weekly KPI’s, clubSEVEN sales, staff incentives,
General
• Nurture an atmosphere of teamwork and enthusiastic employee relations among the Tasting Room staff.
• Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, the ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information and/or situations and the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
• Ensure, by performance and example, that Township 7 Vineyards and Winery culture is consistently supported in all business and employee interactions, which includes both ethical and legal aspects, complying with federal and provincial laws and company policies and procedures.

Preferred qualifications/skills:
- Passionate about wine and hospitality!
- Minimum 2 years experience in wine sales and marketing including DTC sales or Wine Club management is an asset.
- Wine education (WSET level 2 and above or something similar)
- Must be able to weekends, events and some holidays.
- Must have the ability to multitask and complete duties, tasks and projects, despite interruptions.
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to complete duties, tasks and projects with little or no supervision.
- Must be passionate about leading a team to meet/exceed company goals.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to set goals, manage projects, and see initiatives through.
