Roche Wines is a new family winery with vineyards on the southern Naramata Bench. Drawing from deep roots in French tradition and years of experience in grapegrowing and winemaking in France and the Okanagan Valley, we released our first wines under the Roche label in 2013 and opened the doors of our winery and tasting room in 2017. We are looking for a passionate, motivated person to join our small team and create a unique experience for our customers.
Tasting Room Sales and Customer Experience
Provide an exemplary tasting room guest experience including hosting wine tastings, sharing knowledge regarding our story, philosophy, wines and vineyards
Manage a small team of seasonal tasting room staff including hiring, scheduling, training and supervision. Define staff schedule and tasks.
Develop bonus programs to meet monthly sales goals
Promptly reply to tasting appointment inquiries and schedule appointments
Define and maintain standards and checklists for presentation and cleanliness: tasting room, parking lot, streetfront, signage, landscaping, picnic area, Interior Health and Liquor Board regulations compliance, washroom facilities
Manage inventory, stocking, merchandising, debit and credit card sales, cashout and deposits.
Maintain point of sale systems and inventory software. Manage inventory and reports between winery and external warehouses.
Wine Club and Direct-to-Consumer Sales
Build club membership, maintain customer database, define club structure and strategy, create wine club collateral material, manage Wine Club shipments and promotions, billing, produce >4 newsletters/year
Define and achieve targets for wine club growth
Market wine club and other initiatives to tasting room visitors
Manage billing, shipping and follow-up for telephone and internet sales
Optimize e-commerce website content
Licensee Account management and Outside Sales representative support
Maintain accounts database, process LDB doc 60 CC invoices, manage accounts receivable, deposit cheques
Optimise and verify shipping and delivery providers, packaging, documentation, follow-up
Provide support and liaison for sales reps: inventory, sales materials, scheduling
Marketing, Communication and Event Management
Create a marketing and communication strategy adapted to Roche wines
Represent Roche Wines at public and trade events
Maintain customer database
Manage Wine competition entries
Curate marketing materials – sales/price/tech sheets content, updates, inventory, printing
Plan and execute special events at the winery – meals, tastings, licensing, staff, rentals, signage, promotion. Complete Picnic Area application and protocol.
Create and implement a scheduled social media presence to build brand awareness
Maintain and expand website content, social media connectivity and e-commerce platform
Manage communication and scheduling with industry partners: BCWI, BCWA, NBWA, Discover Naramata, etc.
Qualifications and Requirements:
A passion for and knowledge of wine including hospitality experience (2 years)
Friendly outgoing personality eager to learn new skills and work in a small team environment
Serving It Right certificate
Ability to lift 40 lbs
Accredited wine certificate (WSET, ISG or similar)
Sales and wine business experience preferred
Excellent computer skills including Office, desktop publishing, web and social media
Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate customer needs and respond appropriately
Exceptional oral and written interpersonal communication skills
Must be flexible regarding work schedule- weekends and holidays required as needed
