We are currently looking for individuals who are passionate about wine and are dedicated to delivering world class visitor experiences alongside of likeminded team members to fill the positions of Wine Educators and tasting Room Associates at our new Great Estates Wine Experience Centre in Penticton, BC.
Your key responsibilities and duties are as follows:
- Greeting and Engaging Visitors
- Presenting Wine - Conducting tastings, suggesting food pairings, providing wine education
- Providing Recommendations for wine routes throughout the Okanagan to ensure the visitors experience what the Okanagan has to offer
- Proactively supporting our Wine Club and its members with wine club pick-ups, exclusive tastings and experiences, answering questions and inquiries
- Stocking wine and retail items
- Answering phones and directing guests appropriately
- Set-up and tear down for tasting events and special event programs (on and off-site)
- Other duties as required
Job Requirements:
- Previous Winery, hospitality or tasting room experience including exposure to International wines
- WSET 2 or working toward WSET 3 (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Okanagan Wine Region an asset
- Self -motivated with the ability to set goals while working independently
- Strong presentation and communication skills, educate and engage a diverse visitor base
- Strong organizational skills
- Willingness and desire to grow within the wine field of study and to continue one’s education
- Knowledge of a second language such as French, Cantonese, Mandarin, German, Japanese and Spanish would be a definite asset.
- Ability to learn and use multiple accounting, inventory and sales programs effectively
- Proven problem solving and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with customers and peers.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 45 pounds.
