Trail Estate Winery is a small-batch craft winery located in beautiful Prince Edward County, Ontario. We make low-intervention wines only — sparkling or still. All wines lo-fi and hands-on, wild-ferments, & no B.S. 

We are looking for 2 passionate harvest interns with at least 1 to 2 years experience for our 2021 harvest. The position would be from September 1 to November 15, with the possibility for extension depending on the season. 

The ideal candidate will have some cellar experience (i.e. Students of Viticulture and Oenology programs) and be able to follow verbal and written instructions from the winemaker. General cellar tasks will include sampling, harvesting, receiving and processing fruit, lab analyses, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, occasional bottling and recording daily tasks, and of course tasting! Attention to detail and cleanliness are exceptionally important. 

As we are a small winery with a very small team, the ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and will understand that many odd jobs will be required daily. Physically the candidate will be able lift up to 50lbs, stand for long periods of time and work outside in varying weather conditions. Hours will be long and the schedule of the week can be dynamic depending on harvest and incoming fruit. 

 Further experience that would be a bonus:

  • Forklift and tractor experience
  • Formal winemaking education
  • Smartserve
  • First Aid
