We are seeking a Cidermaker to join our team! This is a full-time, year round, permanent position with competitive pay and many perks.

The Job


Our Cidermaker is a hands-on Team Leader who ensures Sea Cider consistently produces award winning cider and sparkling juice. Your work involves all aspects of cidermaking, from pitching yeast and preparing juice to blending batches and conducting bench trials, as well as LOTS of cleaning and sanitizing equipment. Working under the supervision of our Operations Coordinator, you play a central role in helping Sea Cider achieve its cidermaking targets and planning new products. Comprehensive training will be provided, including training on Sea Cider's leadership, cider production forecasting, and how we craft award-winning cider!


The work week is 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Benefits:

About Us


Sea Cider is a certified organic farm near Victoria BC that grows heirloom apples and produces award-winning cider and sparkling juice. We strive to create exceptional cider experiences while operating as a community-minded land steward that provides safe and fulfilling work for staff. About You


You love the daily physical labour of tank room operations, and are a stickler for cleanliness, following procedures, and triple checking your work. You are passionate about crafting award-winning cider, plus have:


  • Education:  Certification or post secondary diploma in related field - preferred.

  • Industry experience in cidermaking, winemaking or brewing: at least two years - required.

  • Machinery operation: experience with beverage production equipment and forklifts - required.

  • Software: proficiency using common software programs, particularly database and spreadsheet systems.

  • People management: an aptitude for leadership and at least one year of supervisory experience - required. Demonstrated success in teamwork and facilitating team collaboration - required. Experience as a trainer - an asset.

  • Communication skills & teamwork: strong written and verbal skills, ability to give feedback to colleagues so that it is well received. Demonstrated success in teamwork and helping to foster an inclusive, positive work environment.

  • Personal aptitude: initiative and a sense of accountability for meeting targets.  Curiosity, great listening skills and openness to feedback.

  • Work week flexibility: Able to work a Monday to Friday "8:30 to 4:30" work week.

  • Physical requirements: The physical strength to safely and manually lift up to 25 kg several times daily and the physical stamina to work standing up all day. Willingness to work in cold and wet conditions at times.

Pay is between $42,000 and $48,000, for a Cidermaker with a few years of experience. For someone with significant prior experience and qualifications, and who could be assigned additional technical and leadership responsibilities, pay would be higher.
