On behalf of our client, we are looking to hire a Vineyard Manager for an exciting new winery project in the Okanagan Valley.
The project is led by James Cluer MW and Marcus Ansems MW. The client is a well established, 2nd generation business that is professional, efficient and reliable, with operations in Vancouver, Seattle and China.
We have purchased a property in Westbank where we will build a landmark new winery, in close proximity to Quails Gate and Mission Hill.
We have also acquired a number of vineyards and are now looking to hire a Vineyard Manager. The start date is flexible, but ideally by end 2018 or soon thereafter.
You will be responsible for a 50 acre property in the Similkameen Valley, that has a mature 20 acre vineyard and plans to plant an additional 20 acres in orchard to Syrah and Viognier in 2020 or 2021.
You will also be responsible for managing a 6 acre vineyard in Westbank that will be replanted to Chardonnay in due course.
You may shortly be responsible for an additional and significant property in the southern Okanagan area.

Therefore, we are prepared to tailor the position and the compensation to the needs of the right individual. Therefore, this role could be part-time, enabling the person to have other clients, or full-time.
We need a Vineyard Manager who has:
-A decade+ of experience running vineyards in the Okanagan.
-Speaks Spanish and can organize Mexican labour
-Has the ability to farm organically and biodyanmically
-Knows how to replant vineyards
-Knows what equipment they would like to purchase.
-Is interested in a long term collaboration either as an employee or an independent contractor.
-Appreciates wine and strives to grow quality grapes for a portfolio that is designed to appeal to the broad market and sell.
-Can work independently, is reliable, and has integrity. The position would collaborate primarily with Marcus Ansems who will support you. We are looking for someone who we will enjoy working with, have fun, set out a mutually agreed plan with, and then let them execute it.
