Cellar Hand - Full Time or Harvest Contract (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery was established with our first vintage in 1988. At that time we were one of a very few estate wineries dedicated to producing premium quality wines made from 100% Ontario grown grapes. Today, Henry of Pelham is a 200K+ case producer in Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula. We work with numerous grape varieties to produce a diverse portfolio of wines.  We have a wide range of winery equipment that we use daily in our various cellar activities.

We are currently hiring for 2 roles - a Full Time Cellar Hand and a Harvest Cellar Hand.  (Harvest contract would be approximately end of August to end of December.  There may be an opportunity for this contract to be extended or for it to become a Full Time role as well.)

Examples of Specific Duties/Responsibilities:

 

•          Cleaning and sterilizing winery equipment and tanks

•          Transferring, racking, blending wine/juice

•          Carrying out various additions/inoculations

•          Barrel operations: filling, racking, topping

•          Pump-overs, punch downs, red drain and presses

•          Maintain a safe, clean and organized cellar

 

Eligibility Requirements:

•          Strong communication skills and a positive attitude

•          Able to lift 25kg and able to work at heights

•          Willing to work shift hours and extended hours during harvest
