Full Time Cellar Hand or Harvest Contract (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

We are currently hiring for two roles:

-A full time (permanent) Cellar Hand

-Harvest Contract (approx. 3 months - End of August to End of November)

Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery was established with our first vintage in 1988. At that time we were one of a very few estate wineries dedicated to producing premium quality wines made from 100% Ontario grown grapes. Today, Henry of Pelham is a 200K+ case producer in Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula.

Henry of Pelham works with numerous grape varieties to produce a diverse portfolio of wines.  We have a wide range of winery equipment that we use daily in our various cellar activities.  Ideal candidates will have familiarity with operations and use of equipment in production, preferably in a winery environment.

Examples of Specific Duties/Responsibilities:

•          Cleaning and sterilizing winery equipment and tanks

•          Transferring, racking, blending

 •         Carrying out various additions/inoculations

•          Barrel operations: filling, racking, topping

•          Pump-overs, punch downs, pressing out red fermenters

•          Performing various filtrations: crossflow, lenticular, pad filter, DE filter

•          Maintain a safe, clean and organized cellar

Eligibility Requirements:

•          Strong communication skills and a positive attitude

•          Able to lift 25kg and able to work at heights

•          Willing to work shift hours and extended hours during harvest

•          Forklift training/license is a plus
