Production Staff - Full Time and Harvest Contract (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery was established with our first vintage in 1988. At that time we were one of a very few estate wineries dedicated to producing premium quality wines made from 100% Ontario grown grapes. Today, Henry of Pelham is a 200K+ case producer in Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula.

 

Henry of Pelham is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team.  There are 2 different roles available: Full-Time Cellar Hand (permanent position) and Contract Harvest Cellar Hand (Approx. end August to end November)

The ability to evaluate, problem solve, and a follow direction are central components to winery production.  Ideal candidates will have familiarity with operations and use of equipment in production, preferably in a winery environment.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

•              Cleaning and sterilizing winery equipment and tanks

•              Transferring, racking, blending wine/juice

•              Carrying out various additions/inoculations

•              Barrel operations: filling, racking, topping

•              Pump-overs, punch downs, red drain and presses

•              Maintain a safe, clean and organized cellar

 

Eligibility Requirements:

•              Strong communication skills and a positive attitude

•              Forklift training/license is a plus

•              Able to lift 25kg and able to work at heights

•              Willing to work shift hours and extended hours during harvest
