Production Staff - Full Time Cellar Hand (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery was established with our first vintage in 1988. At that time we were one of a very few estate wineries dedicated to producing premium quality wines made from 100% Ontario grown grapes. Today, Henry of Pelham is a 200K+ case producer in Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our full-time production team. In this role, you will collaborate with winemaking to execute all of the day to day cellar operations that happen at Henry of Pelham. You will have the opportunity to work across many different wine styles and varieties while using a wide range of equipment and technologies. Ideal candidates will have familiarity with production operations, preferably in a winery environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Transferring, racking, blending wine/juice

• Perform various filtrations: Crossflow, Lenticular, DE, Pad Filter, Lees Filters

• Prepare wines for bottling

• Carrying out various additions/inoculations

• Barrel operations: filling, racking, topping

• Sparkling wine work: traditional method and charmat

• Cleaning and sterilizing winery equipment and tanks

• Maintain a safe and organized cellar

 

Eligibility Requirements:

• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude

• Ability to problem solve

• Forklift training/license is a plus

• Able to lift 25kg and able to work at heights

• Willing to work shift hours and extended hours during harvest

 

Compensation:

Hourly wage contingent on applicant's experience plus a benefits package that includes health and dental coverage. Two weeks paid vacation per year.
