VINEYARD WORKER (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

Okanagan Crush Pad is looking for 8 vineyard workers required for seasonal employment in our three organically farmed vineyards in Summerland and Oliver starting March 15, 2021 to October 22, 2021.

Job Duties: Pruning, planting, irrigating, shoot thinning and tucking, rock picking, mowing, weeding, netting, harvesting, monitoring plant health, operating equipment (e.g. hand tools, lawnmowers, etc.), maintaining building on the property, record keeping and other related duties.

Qualifications and skills:

  • No formal education is required but completion of some secondary school education is preferred
  • Commitment to health and safety
  • Prior experience working in a vineyard an asset
  • Knowledge of agricultural practices is preferred
  • Reliable, teamplayer and self motivated
  • Good attention to detail required
  • Must have Canadian citizenship/residency or a valid Canadian work permit
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Required to perform physically demanding & repetitive work.
  • Must be available for the entire season
  • Must be able to work 40-50 hours/week including regular weekend work
  • Must be physically capable of performing assigned duties and tasks
  • Required to work for prolonged period of time in dry hot summers as well as cold temperatures
  • Non smokers preferred

Contract length: 7 months

Expected start date: 2021-03-15

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal

Salary: $14.60 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shifts
  • Monday to Saturday
