Scope
To increase fruit quality and to optimize vineyard practices. Grow communication channels between DLV shareholders and partner growers. Through these practices correlate these improvements directly to final wine quality.
The position reports to the General Manager & Winemaker and is expected to also support cellar operations. This candidate will:
- Obtain, present, develop and apply resources from external knowledge groups & agencies (Research scientists).
- Measure & report crop yields for each vineyard against expected revenues & operating budgets.
- Propose solutions & options to property owners on an ongoing basis to improve overall vineyard performance and operating cost reduction strategies
- Identify new, innovative and beneficial technical opportunities to keep farming practices current and vineyard specific.
Skills required:
· 3-5 years of vineyard experience in viticulture.
· Prior experience in a supervisory or management position.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills; exceptional communication skills
Qualifications:
· Viticulture degree, diploma or certificate a benefit.
· Outstanding computer knowledge
· Operating experience with tractors and another vineyard equipment
· Current spray applicator certification.
· A valid driver’s license.
· Forklift ticket considered an advantage.
· Ability to communicate in Spanish considered an asset.
Salary will be based on level of experience
