Tasting Room Associate (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

Cavallo Winery is a boutique winery dedicated to crafting exceptional wines and offering visitors an unforgettable experience.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dynamic and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Tasting Room Associate. The ideal candidate will be passionate about wine, possess excellent communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work at least one weekend shift.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Packaging wine boxes for retail and shipping orders with care and attention to detail.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the tasting room and retail area to ensure an inviting atmosphere for our guests.
  • Assisting with marketing initiatives, including social media updates, email campaigns, and promotional events.
  • Setting up and taking down equipment and decorations for winery events, such as tastings, private parties, and festivals. Set-up and take down of lights. 
  • Providing exceptional customer service to all visitors by offering wine tastings, answering questions about our wines and winemaking process, and assisting with purchases.
  • Operating cash registers and processing transactions accurately on the POS system.
  • Collaborating with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the tasting room and adherence to company standards.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or customer service roles preferred.
  • Knowledge of wine and/or a willingness to learn about wine varietals, production techniques, and wine regions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, such as bending, standing for extended periods, and carrying wine boxes down stairs. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age.

Pay: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
