Built within a revitalized historic theatre in downtown Penticton, the heart of South Okanagan wine country, the new TIME Winery offers a tasting bar, lounge and intimate outdoor patio for guests to enjoy. TIME Winery’s full kitchen and event space provide a unique venue for your next public or private event. Summerland winery; Evolve Cellars is perched on a bench overlooking Okanagan lake, and boasts one of the Valley’s best views. A bright and airy tasting room with an onsite picnic bar and sun-drenched patios make this an essential stop in your Bottleneck Drive visit. The grounds offer a perfect setting for weddings and many special events, including yoga and corporate retreats.
TIME Winery & Kitchen and Evolve Cellars are recruiting full and part time Winery Hospitality Sales Associates for the 2019 season. We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate, and hard working team members to work with us in our two wineries. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Candidates must possess excellent customer service skills, a positive “YES” attitude, and have a passion for wine.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional and memorable guest experiences for all customers.
- Conduct structured tasting sessions and tours of the vineyards/winery.
- Responsible for selling & wine pairing menu and features in our restaurant.
- Provide guests with an authentic winery dining experience
- Promoting sales in the tasting room, restaurant, online, at winery events & through the our Wine Club.
- Enthusiastically strive to meet daily sales targets.
- Handle daily opening and closing procedures – including daily inventory and cleaning.
- Assist with the promotion, delivery, set-up and tear-down of special onsite hospitality events.
- Participate and represent the winery at offsite functions, when/if required.
- Greeting all visitors to the tasting room, and educate guests about our wines
- Assisting and driving sales, upselling guests on wine purchases, and wine club memberships
- Maintain inventory, organization and cleanliness on the tasting room
Position Requirements:
- Candidates must express a sincere interest in wine and passion to develop wine knowledge
- Must possess current Serving It Right certification
- ISG/WSET education is an asset
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position including repetitive lifting of 30-50 lbs, being able to stand for extended periods of time, as well as navigate stairs
- Open and flexible schedule for the duration of the season; our tasting rooms operates 7 days per week and successful candidates must be available to work all shifts/days including holidays
We offer a competitive hourly wage based on experience, commission program and great sales incentives.
