Our boutique wine import agency is in search of a reliable Business Manager to join our office team. The successful candidate will relish the process of tracking invoices and resolving accounts for our customers. They should be extremely detail-oriented and a team player. We need someone who can work independently, as well as with a team of super fun wine enthusiasts, to ensure that our books are always up-to-date and accurate so that we can make effective decisions about the business. If you have a head for numbers, we want to hear from you.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage account receivables of Nicholas Pearce Wines and our local winery partners
- Analyzing and reconciling accounts
- Reviewing and preparation of financial reports including review and preparation of month end and year end close entries
- Creating and distributing daily invoices
- Prepare and receive wire bank transfer payments
- Maintain proof of delivery invoices
- Weekly bank reconciliations within quickbooks
- Quarterly reconciliation and closing of financials for HST filing
- Prepare daily bank deposits, including taking deposits to the bank
- Processing credit card transactions
- Monitor accounts, follow-up and initiate collections on past due invoices
- Maintain customer contact listing for the company
- Other duties as assigned
- Present a positive and professional image of the company when interacting with clients/customers, visitors and other external stakeholders
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and adaptation of the Accounting process
Job Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting or 2-5 years relevant work experience in a computerized accounting environment. (Preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- QuickBooks Online experience or training
- Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing in English
- Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills; excellent relationship building skills required
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment
- Excellent organizational abilities required
- Attention to detail essential
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Working in a Mac environment is an asset
- Interest in wine an asset but not required
