Licensee Sales Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Reporting to the VPGM, the successful candidate must have an excellent track record as a career salesperson.  Product knowledge/enthusiasm for high-ticket wines is also required and previous key accounts selling experience is a plus. Restaurant/wine/food experience and special event planning experience also a plus. This position also requires behind-the-scenes industry knowledge of future account openings in a rapidly expanding market.  Responsibilities include creating, initiating effective collaborations, and organizing evening and weekend wine events with GTA accounts as well as attendance at trade events that also involve evenings and weekends.

The Role:

§  Pre-plan and execute sales calls to new and existing licensee partners.  Types of accounts vary and consists of on premise (restaurants, hotels and other similar venues) and retail (LCBO/Grocery) in the near future.

§  Present fact-based sales presentations to introduce new products and sell existing products

§  Keep abreast of competitive trends and report appropriate developments

§  Attend and participate in events, training and meetings

§  Coordinate and conduct tastings & events

§  Review and prepare reports / sales materials

§  Deliver and exceed on annual budget for assigned territory in terms of revenue and distribution

§  Lead others on the team for the Licensee sales team (Ottawa and Niagara team members currently)

§  Represent premium wine brand with pride, act as a local ambassador for our suppliers

§  Collaborate with internal departments such as Customer Marketing, Strategic Insights, Human Resources, etc. to ensure cooperative and positive business development and growth.

§  Identify, create and manage, value added initiatives and programs with accounts, including but not limited to tastings, incentives, customer education programs, and events.

§  Complete other special projects as required, including but not limited to trade events, trade shows, consumer tastings, seminars, maintenance of storage unit, and staff trainings.


Do you have what it takes?

§  Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Commerce or related from a recognized institution

§  WSET level 2 or 3 completed or enrolled in course

§  3+ years’ experience in sales 

§  Impeccable communication skills including influencing, negotiation and presentation skills

§  Organized with proven ability to multitask & manage time effectively

§  Self-starter with a strong desire to learn and develop as a sales professional

§  Able to work well independently and in a team

§  Strong Computer skills including MS Office

§  Available to travel and attend evening/ weekend events as necessary

§  Legally able to sell alcohol beverages

§  Valid Driver’s License and driving record. 


Compensation: Base salary plus commission, benefits and expenses commensurate with experience.
