The Small Winemakers Collection Inc. (est. 1991) is a leading wine importing agency in Ontario.  Our collection of wines is one of the most diverse within the province ranging from boutique, small, family-run estates to exceptional providers of everyday wines.  In addition to our industry leading selection of international and domestic wines, we provide superior customer service, logistics, and education to our licensee community and private client customers.

We are seeking a Licensee Sales Representative to join our Small Winemakers Licensee Sales Team.

Reporting into the Director of Licensee Sales, the Licensee Sales Representative will be responsible for managing and building sales in licensees, while paying attention to margin, accounts receivable, core international and VQA brand representation and overall sales targets.

Compensation is commission-based along with exceptional benefits, pension and share-purchase plan offered through out parent company, Andrew Peller Limited. 

We are looking for a teammate with:

  • University Bachelor of Arts or Science or College Diploma, or equivalent experience
  • WSET or CAPS Certification an asset
  • Driven by a commission-based compensation structure
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
  • Passion for sales
  • Excels in dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Proven ability to effectively build and maintain relationships with a variety of personalities.
  • Exemplary leadership and customer service; communication, product knowledge, problem solving, and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility outside normal business hours.
  • Must be physically able to carry cases of wine, climb stairs, stand/walk for hours at a time.
  • Candidates residing within Territory will be given preference.

This teammate will be accountable for:

Financial Focus

  • Grow the business efficiently, profitably and rationally.
  • Maintain or increase sales in existing accounts, grow sales in underperforming accounts and prospect for new accounts.
  • Responsible for the collection of accounts receivable.

Customer Focused Activities

  • Become your customers most valued supplier.
  • Provide a broad selection of wines, selling a balanced selection of core and niche products.
  • Provide well informed, professional, responsive and innovative service.
  • Sampling and educating buyers and staff.
  • Compiling client-targeted product sheets.
  • Assisting clients with wine dinners.
  • Introducing visiting suppliers to clients and prospects.
  • Assisting in trade events.
  • Delivering to clients when necessary.

Internally Focused Activities

  • Improve efficiencies and responsiveness of the company.
  • Participate in regular meetings wherein individual and corporate performance is reviewed.
  • Focus individual efforts according to individual and corporate targets.
  • Develop weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual schedules and sales plans.
  • Follow safe work procedures and practices and reports all unsafe working conditions to their manager.

Innovation and Growth

  • Work on continuous growth and improvement.
  • Upgrade general wine knowledge.
  • Upgrade specific knowledge of our suppliers and products.
  • Attend trade events.
  • Look for new ways to market our wines.
