Ontario Spirit Portfolio Manager (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Based in Mississauga and reporting to the Vice President – this position is responsible for the brand development of a significant portfolio of wine brands in Ontario.

Skills and qualifications:

A candidate with a successful track record in brand management in the beverage alcohol industry would be ideal to this role. Eligible candidates will bring a strong skillset in strategic marketing, communication, forecasting, process/planning management, plus traditional and digital advertising and retail promotional experience.   Analytical thinking capabilities coupled with problem-solving skills plus a hands-on attitude and a positive team orientated attitude are additional key attributes for this position. This role requires a genuine demonstrated passion for spirits, with a strong background managing global spirit brands.  

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building brand plans, forecasts, and budgets for all the brands in the portfolio;
  • Develop, present and sell-in strategic marketing plans that will facilitate product portfolio growth;
  • Manage supplier relationships to analyze brand performance and create innovative and result-driven promotional programs. Ensure that all programs are properly tracked to evaluate and revisit effectiveness, provide ongoing budget management;
  • Gain an excellent understanding of the product categories and their respective competitive and retail environments to anticipate market changes and develop strategies to offset the changes;
  • Work closely with key internal contacts and customers to ensure goals are attained and programs are executed to plan.  Maintain congruence between regional plans and national brand strategies (pricing, promotion, image, trademarks, consumer communication, POS, etc.)
  • Build key on-trade spirit brand experiences to recruit new customers
  • Take the lead on building a strong B2B and B2C spirit portfolio strategy.

The successful candidate must possess a bachelor degree within a business-related field and has already worked for a minimum of three years within a strategic sales or marketing role.  In addition advanced computer skills, strong PowerPoint and excellent Excel ability, experience in digital marketing and social media are required. WSET 2 or 3.
