Territory Manager - Vancouver Island (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

Reporting to the Provincial Sales Manager, the Territory Manager will be responsible for the selling and merchandising function for the company portfolio in all assigned accounts within the defined geographical territory.

As the customer facing representative for the company and its portfolio you will be responsible for driving distribution, negotiating in- store positioning where possible, and managing compliance to paid programming and educating staff on key brand attributes.

Whilst the majority of focus will be on flawless execution in Retail Stores you will be responsible for driving availability, visibility and activation for the portfolio with assigned On Premise accounts within the territory

Specific responsibilities will include:

· Implement territory sales plan and corresponding sales strategies effectively

· Build brand awareness and ensure strong sell-through/ depletions of Provincial portfolio both through various promotional programs and regular call cycle.

· Maximize market share in geographical territory retail accounts to achieve provincial revenue, profit and growth targets

· Ensure volume, distribution, promotional, merchandising, training and public relations activities are effectively implemented and executed.

· Operate territory within approved expense budget

· Maintain and develop productive business relationships with all key customer decision-makers

· Communicate all relevant business opportunities and competitive information on a regular and timely basis

· Additional tasks may be assigned as warranted.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:

· 3-5 years’ beverage alcohol, consumer packaged goods or food and beverage industry experience required

· Excellent track record as a salesperson is required

· Experience calling on BCLDB/ LRS stores and/or independent restaurants would be an asset

· Should possess an entrepreneurial, self-motivated nature and an enthusiasm for retail account management and the beverage alcohol environment

· Essential to possess a keen interest in and sound knowledge of spirits and wine

· Enjoys a fast paced environment and adapts well to change

· Exceptional customer service skills; including communication, problem solving, listening and attention to detail

· Holds a valid BC driver’s licence & own vehicle

· Physical capacity to build case displays

· Can interact professionally with colleagues and clients

· Ability to persuade and influence others

· Thrives in a team environment but able to work unsupervised

· Demonstrated selling skills along with product/market knowledge required

· Residence within the territory is essential

· Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook experience and competency

$55,000 - $65,000 base salary.
