Job Description:

The Role:

  • The role of the Account Manager, BCLS is responsible for managing, selling to, and planning for assigned categories at the BCLDB. This role is expected to work with specific internal and external customers to drive sales at the BCLDB through strategic and focused portfolio management.
  • This position’s objective is to manage day to day account management of assigned categories; to secure distribution and increase sales of Arterra Wines wine portfolio in both volume and dollar share while positioning Arterra Wines Canada as the core supplier and preferred partner in this high profile position.
  • This role has direct responsibility for achieving annual sales volume plan and S&OP for assigned categories
  • Utilize the Arterra Wines Canada selling methodology to grow volume, sales revenue and market-share while generating strong EBIT and ROI.
  • As the key contact and subject matter expert this role will facilitate and manage strong communication with internal and external audiences as required for assigned categories to ensure delivery of plans and promotional strategies. This includes all matters relevant to day to day account management.
  • This position requires thorough knowledge of the BCLDB/BCLS so as to understand and develop new opportunities to grow the business of both organizations
  • The KAM will contribute to the development of the BCLS Strategic Account Plan, identifying opportunities and risks and developing category strategies to deliver sales volume so as to outperform Arterra Wines competitors.
  • The KAM will secure and cultivate strong relationships with key BCLS contacts as a preferred supplier and trusted resource
  • This role will take a proactive and collaborative approach with internal departments such as Customer Marketing, Revenue Management, Business Insights to drive BCLS results and maximize opportunities.
  • This position will create, build and deliver persuasive fact based category presentations with detailed analysis to support As the key contact for NPD in BC this role will be accountable for all aspects of the NPD process for the BC market. Timely presentation and negotiation of new product listings to the BCLS
  • This position will prepare and conduct detailed reviews of portfolio performance on a monthly basis, including bi annual business reviews per category
  • The KAM will participate and contribute to the annual planning processes for assigned categories
  • Overseeing inventory for BCLDB channel for respective categories to influence buying requirements and patterns with both internal and external supply chain contacts.
  • Managing inventory and forecasting projections to satisfy demand of targeted executions.
  • Conducting post promotional analysis.
  • Coordinating and Participating in industry related events such as VQA Educational Session, Winemaker Events, etc as necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • A University Degree or Comparable. (Primary Focus on Business, Sales and/or Marketing)
  • A track record of success in a similar role with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
  • Must have 2+ years’ experience in the beverage alcohol industry.
  • WSET or ISG Certification an asset.
  • Strong wine product knowledge and understanding of BC beverage alcohol industry.
  • Key Account Management experience at a Head Office Level (Previous BCLS Experience an Asset)
  • Proven Experience or Certification in Sales and Negotiation. Strong analytical skills, and polished presentation abilities. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proven problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with customers and peers.
  • Results oriented, self-motivated, driven and disciplined. Computer literacy, including the ability to create and modify PowerPoint presentations, Word and Excel documents as well as effectively utilize web-based tools and resources.
  • Proof of valid Driver’s License will be required.
  • Genuine interest and passion for the beverage alcohol industry.
  • Must be able to lift wine cases weighing up to 45 pounds.
