BC Marketing Manager (Wine Jobs: Management & Administration)

The Drinks List is a beverage alcohol agency that represents premium Canadian and Import wineries, distilleries, breweries, and cideries. We currently have an opening for a Marketing Manager based in Vancouver, BC.  The position could be part time or full time depending on the preference of the successful applicant. 

The ideal candidate is self-motivated and has a strong desire to be successful.  The ability to work on your own, once trained on the duties, is essential.  The role involves liaising with sales representatives, management, suppliers, and customers.  A keen interest in wine, spirits, beer, and cider is a pre-requisite.  You will create and implement marketing plans and activities that add value and increase sales.  You will be a key member of our administration team, working on various tasks to support our sales efforts including handling our customer service desk when the Office and Administration Manager is out of the office.  Organization is one of your strongest skills and you enjoy helping others succeed.

You must be skilled with computer software like MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, and have experience with graphic design and desktop publishing programs.  You have the ability to learn new software and systems quickly and adapt to regulations and requirements necessary to deal with external organizations both in the private and public sectors.  You are comfortable working with the major social media platforms and willing to learn new ones.  You understand what is required to make our social media posts interesting, relevant, and professional.

Most importantly, you have a positive attitude and a passion for delivering top quality work.

The position is being offered as full or part time.  It requires working Monday to Friday; however a reduced workday is possible starting as late as 11 am and finishing by 4 pm.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Represent the company in a professional manner at all times

·       Support managers and sales team whenever possible to generate sales and revenue, while minimizing costs to ensure profitability.

·       Manage schedule to be productive.

·       Update Price Lists monthly or as needed.

·       Create feature sheets, tech sheets, shelf talkers, and event cards

·       Create other marketing tools for sales staff as requested

·       Updating company website

·       Create marketing plans to support listing applications with the BCLDB

·       Complete all other LDB Marketing forms and documents as needed

·       Managing our email Marketing data base and campaigns using MailChimp or other software

·       Organize sample deliveries to media

·       Organize details for events and portfolio tastings such as handouts, product, set up, etc

·       Attendance at some evening or weekend events may be required

·       Manage all aspects of Social Media posts including but not limited to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn

·       Organizing and managing all aspects of in store tastings including hiring staff across Western Canada.

·       Organize and maintain our offsite storage locker that holds point of sale material and samples

·       Maintain office systems and equipment as required

·       When Office and Admin Manager is away, cover the duties below:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of domestic supplier orderdesks
  • Track and liaise with domestic suppliers regarding accounts receivable issues
  • Track and order inventory of domestic stock accordingly to avoid stock outs
  • Track depletions of allocated BC domestic stock as required

·       Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements and Attributes of the Successful Candidate

·       Have and maintain good understanding of the wine industry and the beverage alcohol industry in general including various customer and channel regulations, market trends and competition

·       WSET Level 2 or higher preferred

·       Self-starter

·       Computer hardware, software, and social media savvy

·      Must have excellent knowledge of Excel and above average working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs.  Candidates with desktop publishing and graphic design experience preferred.

·      Serving it Right or equivalent (can be completed upon being hired)

·      Excellent communication skills

·      Have sound judgment and problem solving skills

·      Ability to be proactive and maintain a Positive Attitude
