This position forecasts for monthly sales depletions and analyzes return on investment for sales and marketing programs in Western Canada (BC, AB, SK, MB). The Business Analyst reports to the General Manager, Western Canada.
Principal duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Sale Pricing:
- Submitting applications to provincial liquor boards for weekly or monthly sale pricing opportunities
- Tracking the progress and outcome of price promotions (inventory, forecasts, budgets)
- Updating internal software with actual costs of programs
- Analyzing the ROI on pricing promotions and making recommendations based on analysis
- Analyzing competitive promotions
Forecasting:
- Forecasting monthly sales depletions for 4 Western provinces using internal forecasting system
- Updating sales forecasts based on trends, actual outcomes, etc.
- Liaising with Sales Directors and Trade Marketing Director to create forecasts that meet company targets within budgets
- Liaising with Logistics Manager to make sure inventory can support sales forecasts
Analysis/Reporting:
- Reviewing all programs ROI, and conducting comparative research on wine marketing strategies
- Create monthly sales summary per province per month
- Create tools to allow for more accurate forecasting
- Assisting as needed for market analysis and pitch presentations
Education & experience:
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in business or other relevant discipline (finance, logistics)
- Related experience (1-2 years)
- Attention to detail, extensive analytical skills, and familiarity managing budgets
- Advanced knowledge of excel
