Coal Harbour Liquor Store, in Downtown Vancouver, is looking for a General Manager to oversee all operations of our flagship store.
The ideal candidate will be a positive team-leader with proven experience in retail management and a deep understanding of the liquor industry.
Responsibilities:
People Management/Work Culture:
● Manage human resources and maintain an appropriate staff roster
● Foster a positive working culture
● Maintain strong standards for product knowledge and customer service
Operations:
● Oversee all aspects of store operations, including cash reconciliation, payroll, inventory management, product ordering and receiving, and pricing adjustments.
● Ensure compliance with all BC liquor laws and store policies at all times.
● Handle all store communications and maintain professional relationships with vendors, agents, and corporate accounts.
● Conduct routine maintenance and ensure store cleanliness and presentation.
Marketing:
● Coordinate in-store events and promotions.
● Manage store's online presence across various platforms.
● Seek marketing opportunities, including community engagement
Professional Development:
● Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities.
● Attend industry-related events and training programs
Qualifications:
● Minimum 2 years of retail management experience, with a preference for experience in the beverage/alcohol industry.
● WSET Level 2 or higher is prefered
● Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in team management.
● Excellent customer service and communication skills.
● Physical ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
● Knowledge of BC liquor laws and Serving It Right (SIR) policies and procedures.
