Sales Director BC (Wine Jobs: Sales & Marketing)

This role will require decisiveness and multi-tasking. It will involve
you in critical situations where on-the-spot decisions are to be made
with good judgement. The role demands tenacity and assertiveness
in dealing with highly competitive situations.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Having a track record of successfully growing a product portfolio,
managing and building - new and existing supplier relations
• Overseeing and executing sales and promotion of a fast-growing
dynamic portfolio with focus on Downtown Vancouver, Lower
Mainland, North Shore, Whistler & Victoria
• Managing current accounts and prospecting new ones through on
road sales calls (min 3X a week) including on-premise, LRS
and BCLDB calls
• Managing and executing retail, on-premise & consumer tastings
• Developing forecasts, budgets and marketing plans
• Analyzing market dynamics and trends
• Communicating with bookkeeper to ensure invoices are accurate
and kept up to date.
• Co-ordinating supplier visits and all consumer & trade events
(VIWF, IVSA, etc.)
• A passion for wine - Sommelier Guild or WSET an asset
• Min. 5 years sales experience in the wine industry, including at least
2 years in a leadership role
• Microsoft office and Excel experience
• Managing monthly SSDS Reports
• Conducting day to day logistics and inventory management
• Submitting BCLDB Listing Applications, Product Registration and all
related BCLDB Marketing Programs
• Managing agency pricing module to ensure sales targets & margins
are met
• Education: Degree, diploma or equivalent experience
• Excellent oral and written English skills
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
• Occasional evening and weekend work
• Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
