To increase the market share of the sales of the Escalade portfolio of brands on Vancouver Island. Responsible for developing and maintaining critical partnering relationships with accounts in Greater Victoria and important accounts on Vancouver Island. This position is based in Victoria with regular travel up the island.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Account Responsibilities:
- Call on key accounts within assigned territory, identify and target customers, secure and maintain profile information to develop the business.
- Build and maintain product distribution within these accounts, keep accurate records of each account.
- Develop partnerships with liquor store and licensee account management to increase the market share of our products within the account.
- Depending on the customer base, activities can include making sales presentations, taking product orders, coordinating promotions, developing wine and bar lists, conducting product tastings or staff training, and other related activities.
Management/Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and current account data base.
- Submit weekly activity and planning reports
- Manage expenses within company guidelines
Job Requirements:
Skills: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be highly organized and display excellent customer service abilities. Should have good PC skills (Office/Word/Excel). Must be able to juggle multiple situations, and able to work independently.
Knowledge: WSET 2. Willing to learn more about the industry by up-grading wine and spirit knowledge through the completion of courses and learning programs.
Physical: Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and travel (includes overnight stays). Must be able to lift and carry 41+ pounds.
Other: Must possess a valid Driver’s license in the Province employed and must meet the Company’s automobile insurance requirements. Must have and maintain a valid Canadian Passport.
Other Preferred Job Qualifications: Existing trade relationships. Previous selling, marketing, public relations, restaurant/wine, and food experience, retail and/or event special event planning experience. Passion for wine and the industry. Salary commensurate with experience, plus car allowance, and business related expenses.
