Position Summary

The Director – Brand Home and Direct to Consumer, oversees the translation of brand positioning for Foreign Affair to all winery related direct to consumer touchpoints. They will drive high impact programs to generate demand of targeted visitors, loyalty, and sales through on-site experiences and eCommerce. They are responsible for the strategic Direct Sales plan development and implementation (short and long term); business profit growth, execution and management of the Direct Sales operations (Visitor Centre, Wine Club, CRM, e-Commerce) and Trade Hospitality. Also responsible for identifying step-change growth opportunities. The role is responsible for infusing best-in-class marketing strategy and innovation into these channels.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Closely collaborate with Brand Team to bring Foreign Affair Winery positioning to life in winery and DTC experiences.

  • Working with the Digital team, build a strong consumer connection journey through online engagement. Collaborate on the development of the eCommerce strategy and lead execution and fulfillment.

  • Develop, execute and track results for the annual winery direct-to-consumer plans. Communicate timely performance data to effectively manage the direct to consumer sales and retention goals.

  • Creatively craft experiences and relentlessly audits consumer touchpoints across all channels to create consistent and engaging brand connections.

  • Brand Home responsibilities include: driving step-change growth at the visitor centre, team management, merchandising, planning and execution of all events and business profit delivery.

  • Wine Club responsibilities include: driving step-change growth, team management, brand execution and essence representation towards Wine Club members, as well as delivery of Club growth targets.

  • Trade Hospitality responsibilities include: coordinating sales, execution and ongoing management of winery hosted events for outside media, PR events, retail and licensee trade, VIP’s, employees and corporate group events.

Required Skills / Competencies

  • a mindset for continuous improvement and growth plus analytical and strategic capabilities, experience in strategy/business development and a proven track record of successful implementation. Strong customer experience focus, leadership/management skills and financial / business acumen.

Education

Required

  • BComm or BA in Hospitality or Tourism Management

Experience

Required

  • Between 7 to 10 years tourism/hospitality experience, with 5+ years of retail and events management experience.

Preferred

  • Wine industry experience.

  • Greatly influences goals but does not have final authority.  Manages and deploys resources to meet the goals.
