Tawse Family Vineyards grows over 120 acres of certified Organic grapes in the Niagara region.  The vineyards supply Tawse Winery (Winery of the Year 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016) and Redstone Winery (Winery of the Year 2017) with premium grapes to create their world class wines. Our large portfolio of grapes includes Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cab Franc, Riesling, and other varieties grown in high density and conventional blocks. 

We are currently searching for an assistant vineyard manager who has a passion for sustainable and organic agriculture. The individual will be self motivated, detail orientated, and organized. They will work closely with the vineyard manager to schedule and lead the vineyard crew in hand labor and tractor work.

Responsibilities:

·         Supervise and ensure all the vineyards duties are completed in an optimal and timely manner as directed.
·         Assist with checking vineyards for disease and quality control
·         Maintain and train on health and safety policies
·         Tractor work, hand labour and spraying
·         Operation and maintenance of all vineyard equipment, implements and vehicles
·         Assist with work and spray records

Qualifications and Skills

·        Post Secondary Education in Agriculture
·         Prior experience in management
·         Reliable and self motivated
·         Attention to detail
·         Effective communication skills
·         Ability to lift 50lbs
·         Willing to work long hours in all weather conditions
·         Valid Ontario Drivers License (DZ or AZ an asset)
·         Valid Pesticide Safety License

Compensation based on experience
