A great opportunity to join the dynamic team at one of the fastest growing premium wineries in the Niagara region. Megalomaniac produces roughly 45,000 cases each year with the portfolio ranging from sparkling wine to Bordeaux reds and almost everything in between!
The Cellarhand who would work directly with the Associate Winemaker is responsible for the day to day cellar work throughout the year and harvest, as well as bottling and some Vineayrd work when needed. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be exposed to many wine styles across a large but focussed wine portfolio.
Requirements are as follows:
• Able to legally work in Canada
• Pervious cellar experience and familiarity with winery equipment
• Education in Winemaking
• Forklift training/license
• Great communication skills
• Highly motivated and have a strong work ethic
• Can work well in a team
• Motivated and passionate about making high quality wine
• Able to lift 25kg and able to work at heights
• Willing to work shift hours and extended hours during harvest (6 days a week, often > 50 hours/week)
Job description and responsibilities:
• Cleaning and sterilizing winery equipment and tanks
• Transferring, racking, blending wine/juice
• Carrying out various additions/finings
• Filtering wines
• Barrel operations: filling, racking, topping
• Complete work orders with minimal supervision, and/or to work closely and professionally with other team members
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized cellar
• Ability to work within the standard operating procedures established in our cellar
Compensation based on experience.
