Tawse Family Vineyard is a family owned vineyard that produces grapes for Tawse Winery and Redstone Winery. Tawse Winery has over 200 acres, produces 30,000 cases of wine, and has one of the largest portfolios of organic and biodynamic wines in the Niagara Region. Redstone Winery has 38 acres that produce estate wines which are bold and full of character. Tawse Winery has been named Canadian Winery of the Year in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016. Also, Redstone Winery was named Canadian Winery of the Year in 2017. Position Summary
We are currently recruiting for the position of Logistics Manger to manage the Shipping and Receiving Department for both Tawse Winery and Redstone Winery. This is a full-time salary position that reports to the Director of Viticulture and Winemaking. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing the movement, distribution and storage of wine, spirits, and cider; as well as controlling the flow of incoming materials and outgoing finished products to ensure customers receive products on time. The successful candidate will oversee multiple warehouses, inventory control, material handling, customer service, transportation, and managing employees.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all shipments are properly prepared for shipping and coordinate transportation for delivery within a timely manner for licensees, customers, online orders, and wine club shipments
- Perform warehouse cleaning and organization to ensure optimal utilization of the warehouse
- Maintain inventory management by completing inventory counts, accurate inventory recordings and reporting
- Managing employees from hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling
- Develop and maintain standards of practice to ensure that shipping and receiving quality is maintained or improved with minimal errors
- Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with customers and representatives
- Manage the daily operations of the department and prepare reports for upper management
- Ensure employees follow safety rules by following health and safety policies and procedures
Position Requirements
- Previous shipping and receiving experience required; management experience is an asset
- Ability to perform safe and efficient forklift and pallet jack operation
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and representatives
- Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and instruct employees
- Ability to act decisively to resolve problems
- Proficient computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel; experience working with QuickBooks is an asset
- Ability to lift and move 50lbs
- Driver’s license required
