Cloudsley Cellars, a boutique winery in the heart of Niagara's Twenty Mile Bench, is seeking a full time Retail Sales/Wine Club Sales Manager to grow cellar door sales and manage the Wine Club communications and interactions. Working directly with Cloudsley's small team and reporting to the President and Founder, this is an excellent growth opportunity for a sales and marketing professional who is passionate about wine, and loves talking to people with like-minded interests.
Cloudsley is a small operation with three full-time staff, and facilities that are almost entirely dedicated to winemaking. This makes for both an intimate and unusual experience for guests who seek us out. As our fourth full-time staff member you'll play an important role in the future of our company and Wine Club. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, excellent communication skills, a passion for terroir-driven wines and desire to build a career in wine retail and marketing, we'd love to hear from you.
The Day to day Retail
- deliver an exceptional and memorable tasting and sales experience for guests who visit Cloudsley Cellars
- lead wine tastings, confidently sharing technical information about each wine, and the history of the winery and surrounding vineyards
- manage cellar door sales, using [payment system] and assisting guests with their purchases when asked
- setup and tear down of our outdoor tasting space, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment throughout
- prepare daily orders for shipping
Wine club marketing and management
- take a lead role in growing the wine club with a focus on marketing, service, sales and fulfillment
- provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries in a timely manner
- draft and deploy wine club email communications
- manage Cloudsley's social media channels (instagram and Facebook) sharing what's happening at the winery, in the vineyards or in Niagara, with a focus on growing our audience on social media and driving traffic to our website and winery
- prepare orders for shipping
- regularly report on progress, upcoming marketing plans, and sales
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education, a passion for wine and ideally cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and previous retail or server experience:
In addition, you are:
- a natural communicator, able to speak and write in a compelling manner in person, via email, and on Instagram
- proficient on [specific computer programs / point of sale system needed] Instagram. Experience with Shopify and MailChimp considered assets
- up to date with your Smart Serve certification
- able to lift 14kg/35 lb wine cases
- able to work with minimal supervision
- able to work weekends and the ocassional evening
