Crown & Thieves Assistant Tasting Room Manager
As the Assistant Tasting Room Manager, you will act as an ambassador for JPC and be responsible for assisting the day to day operation of the retail floor. Working within our casual wine shop environment, you will deliver the ultimate level of customer service, educate guests on our wines, and ensure the experience for all visitors exceeds expectations. Provide management support to the tasting room manager as required. A major component of this role is developing you into a full Tasting Room Manager. It is expected that the Assistant Manager will learn and become comfortable in all aspects of the Tasting Room Manager’s Job to ensure they are able to run a tasting room for the company in the future.
Responsibilities
1) Provide the Ultimate Customer Service Experience
· Make sure everyone on the planet loves JPC (hatch, Black Swift Vineayrds, Truck 59 and Crown and Thieves)
· Maintain in-depth knowledge about the wines, and vineyards wines are produced from.
· Greet visitors and conduct tastings.
· Coordinate with tour operators and assist with events and offsite industry functions as required
· Monitor all online/email communication from customers/wine club members and ensure customer follow up are completed in a timeline manner
· Maintain cleanliness of the Tasting Room and overall property aesthetics. Ensure that daily opening and closing procedures are completed.
· Handle any customer issues in a courteous and concerned manner, ultimately resolving all problems
2) People & Team Culture
· Lead the team based on our core values where our people are connected to the vision, engaged and energized.
· Assist develop and implement programs across the tasting room to ensure all employees are trained and knowledge about company history, the brand, the products, POS, operating procedures and overall company policies.
· Train and engage all seasonal staff of Wine Club and selling of the Wine Club
· Be a knowledge resource for all tasting bar employees
· Assist with the onboarding and training of all tasting bar employees
3) Work with tasting room manager to flawlessly execute day to day operations.
· Responsible for “day of” shift planning and ensuring efficient scheduling of Tasting Bar employee Duties.
· Ensure opening and closing duties are completed, resolve problems as they arise.
· Ensure all employees accurately handle purchasing transactions, which includes operating cash register and accounting of daily sales; processes returns, and discounts.
· Responsible for assisting with all inventory stored on-site and ensuring inventory control procedures are adhered to, including:
a. Maintaining real time inventory levels through Shopify
b. Entering transfers into Shopify and Saleslitre in real time
c. Organizing weekly wine transfers from offsite storage
d. Performing month end counts and spot checks
e. Ensure all inventory leaving the property is accounted for and signed off on
f. Writing off/approve daily samples
g. Have any special promo items/donations approved by management
· Responsible for working with Tasting Room manager to ensure Tasting Room Point of Sale (POS) system to maintained and used properly
a. Assist accounting with any issues on the POS reports, cash outs, discrepancies
b. Keep POS products up to date with correct pricing
· Responsible for working with Tasting Room manager ensuring any direct-to-consumer/E-commerce business fulfilled/completed.
a. Ensure online orders are fulfilled in a timely manner and acknowledged within 2 business days to the customer
b. Ensure tracking numbers are recorded and correspond to order numbers and sent to customers
c. Review that Shopify orders are fulfilled by end of day
d. Monitor Canada post and shipstation widget for end of day reports
· Work with Management to set and execute tasting room strategy to achieve sales targets.
a. Work with Management to set the monthly wine tasting program and any seasonal promotions/offerings
b. Responsible for management of merchandise inventory
