Assistant Wineshop Manager

A sip of wine with a spectacular view. The Quails’ Gate Wine Shop provides premier tastings of award-winning wines against a backdrop of panoramic views of our estate vineyards and Okanagan Lake. The Wine Shop also offers a selection of Quails’ Gate wines for purchase along with local and wine-centric merchandise to appeal to all wine lovers from the novice to the aficionado.

Quails’ Gate Winery is looking to fill the full-time permanent position of Assistant Wineshop Manager.  This is a great opportunity for a well-rounded service leader to take the next steps in their hospitality career by directly working with the management team to support the operation of running a successful tasting room.  Gain management and operational skills while continuing to grow your career.

About you:

 ·       You are passionate about your craft and, not only eager to learn and advance your career, but also share your talents with the team

·       You are approachable and motivated to further cultivate your leadership and coaching skills

·       You are a storyteller and understand that food and wine have a story to tell regarding its terroir and its journey from the earth to the table

·       You are an innovator and have a desire to actively participate in doing what we do better

 ·       You are detail orientated – knowing that the difference between something good and something great is in the details

·       You are a good communicator and possess good time management and organizational skills

·       Professional and polished, you lead by example

  Requirements

 ·       3-5 years retail experience in a related field (winery or luxury goods)

·       Supervisory or management experience in retail an asset

·       Serving it Right certificate

·       Level (2) WSET or equivalent

·       Post-Secondary Education in a relevant field such as business or hospitality

·       Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays

·       Ability to life 35 pounds and work on your feet for up to 8 hours
