About Us:
Jason Parkes Customs is a collective of like-minded individuals centered around a philosophy of hard work, creativity, and community. We operate the Hatch, Black Swift Vineyards, Truck 59 Ciderhouse, Crown & Thieves, Salt & Thieves, and the Hatching Post. We are looking for two new leaders to join our Cider Making Team at Truck 59 Ciderhouse.
Job Expectations and Qualifications:
- Cider Innovation: create standout ciders with seasonally available fruits, hops, herbs, etc
- Lead the pressing and fermenting of apples/other fruits from our team of Grower properties from all over the Okanagan during harvest season
- Plan and execute onsite bottling and canning runs, including staff scheduling and general maintenance
- Lead by example: maintain high standards of sanitation in all areas of the cidery: tanks, bottlers, pumps, keg washer/fillers, floors, floor drains, canning and bottling lines, etc.
- A leader in operational safety: follow/create safety SOPs for working with various chemicals used for cleaning/sanitizing, confined space, canning and bottling processes, and general cellar safety
- Operate forklifts and power jacks
- Managing inventories as needed, support finance team in inventory controls and procedures
- Mechanical aptitude. Respect of top-quality equipment & tools.
- High level of problem solving
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Have an eagerness to learn, and to mentor Cider Making team
- Team player mentality
- Personal vehicle to travel to and from various locations (reimbursed for fuel)
Necessary Requirements:
- 5+ years leading a cider or winemaking team
- Proven passion and innovation for creating delicious alcoholic beverages
- Experience operating and maintaining canning and bottling lines
- Ability to prioritize tasks and juggle a busy schedule
- Excellent communication skills and interest in mentoring an eager team of aspiring Cider Makers
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position including repetitive lifting of up to 75 lbs, being able to stand for extended periods of time, and have no qualms with confined spaces and heights

Education:
- Formal Education in Wine Making preferred
Experience:
- Cider, Beer, or Winemaking (5+ years) preferred
