About Frind Estate Winery: 

Established in 2017 with the purchase of the historic Bennett property in West Kelowna, Frind Estate Winery blends agriculture with technological opportunity. Markus Frind’s family has a farming history spanning 500 years, both in Germany and northern BC. After the successful sale of plentyoffish.com, Markus is focusing his efforts on pairing technology with agriculture to produce terroir-driven British Columbia wines of exceptional quality.

We are growing and are looking for an experienced GENERAL MANAGER based in West Kelowna, to join the Frind Team.

This role requires the following profile:

§   Leadership. The GM demonstrates excellent hands-on leadership. He/she is adept at articulating a team’s vision and objectives, empowering, and working through people to achieve results. In doing so, he/she is able to (i) lead the Frind teams to achieve stretch goals (ii) establish trusting, collaborative, empowered and accountable team cultures and (iii) develop reporting Managers.

§   Results Orientation. Working with the Senior Leadership team, the GM possesses the ability to recruit, staff and manage talent. This position demands the ability to focus on a clear set of objectives, articulate clear milestones, measurements, accountabilities, and drive toward a successful outcome. He/she must be a “make it happen” leader who provides clear purpose/direction, performance metrics, successfully achieves KPIs, and annual key initiatives.

§   Accountability. This position has overall responsibility for (i) managing winery cash flow and balance sheet (ii) achieving excellence in customer service and (iii) meeting or exceeding key performance indicators in (i) employee engagement (ii) customer satisfaction and (iii) sales target achievement (iv) achieving financial and budgetary policy compliance.

Qualifications: 

·        Degree in Business Management or a Master’s in Business Administration.

·        Minimum of 10 years of experience leading high performing teams, preferable in a senior management capacity

·        Senior Hotel and/or Restaurant Management experience preferred

·        Previous Winery Industry experience considered an asset
