Frind Estate Winery is a quintessential stop on any wine tour of the Okanagan Valley. It boasts a breathtaking lakefront location situated on the historic Bennett Family Property in West Kelowna. Family owned and operated, Frind Estate Winery is producing premium wines truly reflective of the vineyards, the varietals and the vintage.

Frind Properties has involvement in projects across the interior, lower mainland and Canada.

We are currently looking to fill the fulltime role of Human Resources Manager for our group.

The ideal candidate will understand firsthand the HR requirements of a diverse enterprise of this size and scale and be able to guide and advise on the HR practices required to help the organisation continue to grow and maintain itself as an employer of choice. Our future teammate will be working closely with our Management Teams in Frind Estate Winery and Frind Properties.

 

Job Responsibilities

 ·       Creation and implementation of employee handbook in accordance with all relevant BC employment law, labour standards and to support the company in being an employer of choice.

 ·       Enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.

 ·      Manages a pay plan by conducting pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.

 ·      Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and provincial requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.

·       Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures. 

·       Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors

·      Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records. 

·       Completes human resource operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results. 

·       Manages human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. 

·       Advances human resource staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

·       Supports company staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes. 

·       Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs

·      Developing an interactive assessment tool and coaching for senior executives for the subsidiaries and significant investments of the Frind Group

 

The successful candidate will be based in the Frind Estate Winery Offices in West Kelowna, BC, with some requirements for travel between company offices within the Okanagan and Vancouver. The Frind Group recognises that the demands of the position will fluctuate and from time to time, this person may be required to work across other companies within the group.

 

Qualifications & Skills

·       Require minimum 7+ years of experience in Human Resources managerial position

·       Comprehensive understanding of up-to-date Labour Standards and Employment law

·       CPHR certification preferred

·       Experience of company Benefits selection & administration

·       Ability to create and implement Performance management system

·       Experience of advanced communication processes

·       Comprehensive understanding of compensation and wage structures

·       Committed to Supporting diversity and fostering a safe environment

Compensation will be commensurate with experience
