We are hiring an INTERNATIONAL HARVEST INTERN based in West Kelowna, to join the Frind Team starting August 1 – December 31.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Educational opportunity to learn about winemaking from Vine to Bottle.

·         Operating all equipment used in the processing of grapes, juice, and wine during harvest.

·         General cellar duties, including racking, inoculations, additions, and filtering.

·         Making additions to wine, as well as transferring wine volumes using a variety of pumps and hoses.

·         Sorting of grapes, operating presses and destemmer.

·         Assisting in bottling operations.

·         Maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environment, as well as always adhering to current WorkSafe regulations.

·         Pump overs and punch downs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Previous harvest experiences an asset.

·         Winemaking or viticulture qualification, or science related qualifications.

·         Ability to multi-task, work independently and with a team, in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on quality, accuracy and timeliness.

·         Forklift driving certification considered an asset.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

·         Ability to lift heavy (>50 lbs) and w

·         May need to stand on their feet for long periods of time.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
